Rubistar is free, supported by a grant from the U.S. Dept. of Education. Just pick a general topic, then a more-specific assignment type. You get a customizable rubric with text for each category that you can edit so it's exactly what you want.
Step-by-step Rubistar: go to rubistar.4teachers.org. Scroll down, don't login.
1. Under "Create a rubric" pick the closest general topic. Then pick a more specific assignment type. Don't worry if it's not exact.
2. Fill in your name, rubric project name, and zip code. The zip code lets Rubistar track usage of their service.
3. Under "Demonstration..." leave it as temporary. Your name and the title will appear on the rubric but will not be saved.
4. Select as many scoring categories as you want. Change any wording as needed.
5. Scroll down to bottom and click SUBMIT. Don't worry about saving in database.
6. Click Print or Download button to do save as EXCEL for future use. Once in excel, you can save as a PDF for online posting.
