Reserving the COW

I put a running schedule of technology reservations (the COW) front and center on the Technology Services portal. I include both the COW and classes that I will be helping
out… so if it is a freshman class or an English class, the COW is still available. This is also how people can find me if I’m not in my office! There are little reservation forms there too for you if you like that.

    It has been fun to go back through some of the original postings on this blog. A prime example is this one. I can't believe the days of the COW are long gone! It is neat to see how we've grown in our capacity to integrate technology to the point that we are now a one-to-one laptop school. While we will always be a work in progress, we have grown in the last few years!

Digital Storytelling

Digital storytelling is a broad term for an audio/visual “report” which can be a cultural story, historical biography, poetry, interview, news story, radio advertisement or book review, first person account or journal entry...any digital project can be seen or heard. I saw many examples at CUE, and they range in complexity from simple audio to audio with images to documentary “movies” with audio, video and still images. Some of the projects moved us to tears, others were humorous, and all were creative and intelligently constructed. Our laptops have the capability to do any of these things, and most students know how to organize images, sound and video already. If you have an upcoming assignment or project in your class and would like to update the format, please let me know. After a planning session with me, I will come in and facilitate the class while you provide the support for the subject matter.
