Reserving the COW

I put a running schedule of technology reservations (the COW) front and center on the Technology Services portal. I include both the COW and classes that I will be helping out… so if it is a freshman class or an English class, the COW is still available. This is also how people can find me if I’m not in my office! There are little reservation forms there too for you if you like that.

US Senators and more in Google Earth

I just found something fun for US Government on Google Earth…. There is an overlay called US SENATORS and another called US CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS. In Google Earth, look on the lower-left side of the screen for the LAYERS section… and you can check and uncheck what you want on the Earth. I unchecked everything in Layers except BORDERS AND LABELS to get rid of clutter. *Under MORE at the bottom I found US GOVERNMENT where you can check off SENATORS. Each state will display a STAR that you can click for their names and links to web news and images of that senator. * You can also check off US CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS that shows borderlines when you zoom in closer. You’ll get stars again for the congressmen of each district. See images below for a sample, and you can try it yourself. If you look closely you can see what I have checked off under Layers, bottom left.
